Bowed Wall

The dreaded horizontal crack

The high tech solution

Bowed walls can occur due to age of the structure, poor construction, or water pressure. These become very noticeable on the interior as evidenced by a large horizontal crack. If you look down the length of the wall, this "bowing" can becoming very apparent. Replacement of the block wall is no longer necessary due to the strength and capabilities of carbon fiber to lock the crack into place.

Foundation Restoration uses Rhino Carbon Fiber products when repairing bowed walls. Vertical carbon fiber straps are epoxied every few feet along the cracked wall. These straps are secured to both the sill plate, at the top of the wall, and the footer, at the bottom of the wall. This prevents sheering of the wall and restores structural integrety to the wall.
